I almost passed out when he got the acceptance. Given that the incoming class is about 1700, and they have admitted about 1200 so far, there is not too much room left. If you have been deferred, just be sure to follow-up with a letter of continued interest and an update of substantive achievements since you applied. ED2 can help, although my son did not take that route. The past 12 months have been turbulent for Perry.
@srparent15 @Knowsstuff my D sent her letter. Fall transcripts were finalized today and submitted by her guidance counselor. Her ranking actually went up two spots.
@KR1997, like I had said earlier somewhere possibly in the link that 2 heard a while back. One was a no go and the other was accepted. deferred revenue definition I do know 1 person who was accepted into the engineering program, but I don’t think he is going to go toOSU. @KR1997 I was deferred also and have not heard back. I also know of 4 other people who have been deferred and haven’t heard back either, which makes sense since they review the deferred applications in March typically. My son was also a varsity athlete for 4 years with 10 years in 4-H and other school clubs and volunteer work in the community.
Not sure what department the others were applying for though. I just got an email back saying that the latest I’ll hear back is mid-March. However, the other day I got a “status update” on my app, telling me once again that I’m being deferred. I think they evaluate your app every month until mid-March. I’m guessing it will be lower for a few reasons. In 2023, the University got down to 2,065 people admitted.
As I posted in the other UM group (the EA one), when he went to put in his 250 word essay/ECI “letter” the prompt was no longer there. They had deleted it and now it was just a free writing thing.
